- The main thing I took from this was the locations being
quite low budget for example fields and how the sun is used in order to create
a specific feel to the music video and creates a filter but also, how it
changes from day to night which I thought was a good idea but something that
could go wrong when filming
Rita Ora - I Will Never Let You Down
- I liked the idea that it changed from black and white and
then to colour throughout the entire music video and also how when it burst
into colour she was wearing very bright and vibrant colours, making the change
from black and white stand out more than if she were going to be wearing dull
boring clothes. I think this is something that I’m possibly going to be using for
my final music video as it creates a more fun feel to the music video and is
fairly easy to create and can help bring out parts of the song
Arctic Monkeys - Arabella
- At the start of the music video there is an almost rolling
film type effect which drops down or rolls over giving it an indie feel and I
thought that this was quite a good idea but hard to recreate but I liked how
the performance side of the music video wasn’t too heavy but frequent as it
shows things just like the guitar and it all flows together as its all black
and white
Saint Raymond - Everything She Wants
- I think this video follows the conventions of an indie music
video as he is on his own throughout, there are various filters over the top of
the shots to create an almost worn out look on the video and in some cases as
if light has been leaked on to the ‘film’. The location for the video is very
low budget as it is just at the beach and there is no permission needed and also,
the camera is handheld throughout and quite shaky creating a more indie feel
the music video and further creates a sense of the music video being low budget
Lewis Watson - Calling
-I just liked the general concept of this video and how it was presented, the idea and feel of this music video reminded me a of shows that are aired on E4 which is a companion to channel 4, these shows are ‘Skins’ and ‘My Mad Fat Diary’, it reminds me of this simply because of the concept and the people within the music video.
